Steam- This is a great natural treatment for both cold and cough. Steam inhalation moistens the air passages; enables to loosen and elimination of mucous by hacking and coughing or blowing of the nose. This also helps sleep well. It is safe to use a cleaner for children, as compared to a boat with hot water.
Heat Pack Or Hot Water Bag- You can use heat pack that is made for kids or a hot water bag. Placing the hot bag on the chest and back helps relax the muscles, releases the secretions, and reduces and coughing and throat irritation.
Honey And Ginger- It is one of the most effective organic therapy to get relief from a cough. Don’t squeeze the juice out of fresh ginger (about half an inch) and one tsp of honey. Give one tsp of this brew to your kid once a day. Ginger with its anti-inflammatory qualities soothes the throat relieving cough. Honey being an organic expectorant relieves a cough and cold.
Turmeric And Pepper Milk- Add a touch of turmeric and pepper up with a little glucose to a glass of glass of milk and bring it to a boil. Give this to your kid at bed time. Turmeric known for its anti-bacterial qualities reduces both cold and cough. Pepper has the same anti-bacterial qualities helps in the loss of phlegm. Thus consumption of pepper and turmeric along with milk clears throat and the stomach, improving a child’s appetite.
